PS 116 is working on improving access to Instructional Technology in all of its classrooms. This goal starts with the framing of a clear Technology Vision for the school which is currently being worked on by the School’s Technology Study Group supported by Brooklyn North Field Support Centre Director of Instructional Technology.
Through the use of technology tools, we want our students to experience, interact and connect with the world in ways that traditional textbooks alone will not support. The aim is to make technology a daily tool for students that will enable them to develop 21st Century skills in a Student Centered Learning environment. These skills should include:
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
- Collaborative and Communication
- Digital Citizenship and Literacy
- Research and Information retrieval
- Creativity and Innovation
